Be My Eyes was created by a man who wanted to utilise easy to access technology (video calls) in order to connect blind people to sighted people in the moments they really need them.

The final module explores futurology or future studies; an academic discipline that uses information about the past and present to make calculated guesses about the future. We look at Moore’s Law and make guesses of our own about what problems and solutions we might see in our lifetimes.
We’ll explore the concept of pain points through the creations of entrepreneurs and the children will have an opportunity to use tech to design a solution to a pain point close to their heart, be it help with homework or world peace, all the time considering the cyber security implications of relying on technology solutions of any kind.
The module closes with a class discussion about resilience and adaptability: perhaps the most valuable skills our young people need for success in an exciting but uncertain future. That and secure cyber security knowledge, of course!
Many of the technologies that were the stuff of science fiction, have become science fact.
Keeping up with new technologies can be exhausting, but creative entrepreneurs are using it to create products and services that may hold the solutions to humanity’s biggest problems.
How will we feed a growing global population?
How can we meet the demands of an over-stretched health service?

Technology may well provide the tools to save the world. Provided we can keep it safe and secure.
